I had such a great time stomping around Castle Island with Cara and Dave for their late fall engagement session. We had our fingers crossed for a decent sunset so we could capture a view with the Boston skyline, and we got that and more! Like many couples, Cara and Dave were a little nervous about having their engagement photos taken, but that is all the more reason for scheduling an engagement session. We met up about an hour before sunset so we could get to know each other a bit and they could feel more comfortable in front of the camera. By the time that perfect golden hour light was upon us, they were pros. I love having this chance to help people create candid, personal photos that reflect them as a couple. I really try to keep engagement sessions casual so that couples can be themselves and I get a chance to see how they naturally interact. This lets me create portraits that feel authentic to who they are and turns the engagement session into a happy memory and a pleasant part of wedding planning!
