I was so excited for Megan and Tim’s summer outdoor wedding in the gardens at Farandnear, a reservation in Shirley, Ma. Not only are these two an absolute dream to work with — check out their Boston Public Garden engagement photos — but the way they described Farandnear it seemed like a truly magical location with its combination of gardens, wooded trails and a wide open field for the outdoor ceremony. The tent reception pulled together the atmosphere of rustic elegance with long farm tables decorated with mismatched glass-bottle centerpieces numbered with handmade wire numbers. Wooden signs welcomed and guided guests around the venue.
The day started rainy and gloomy, but Megan didn’t let the weather dampen her spirits. We were able to wait out the showers and have their ceremony on the lawn under the handmade wooden arbor. After the reception started there was a break in the clouds, and the most beautiful evening light appeared for the golden hour. Megan and Tim jumped at the chance to take advantage of the light for another quick round of bridal portraits. I seriously could have spent all day photographing this couple in this beautiful location, but since it was there wedding and all, I let them get back to it! Their reception kicked off with the bridal party performing their first dance song, and later Tim surprised Megan with a song he wrote and played on the guitar. We wrapped up the evening with a few night shots along the lit pathway through the woods. It was a perfect conclusion to a beautiful summer wedding.
