Keena & Josh’s Red Lion Inn Wedding

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings over the last couple years while working for George Street Photo & Video and getting to know the Boston area. George Street takes care of booking the weddings and doing all the editing, and all I have to do is show up and take photos. It has been a wonderful blessing to be able to continue to do the work I love while also being a stay at home mom while my girls are little. But I do miss building connections with my clients throughout the wedding planning process. With Keena and Josh, I truly got the best of both worlds!

Keena is one of those rare people who just radiates love. You can see it reflected on the faces of everyone around her, and Josh most of all. Steady, kind and easy-going, Josh is the perfect foil to Keena’s over-the-top energy. I felt an immediate connection with these two—which may be just one of Keena’s talents— when we met up for their engagement photos the September before their wedding. Hopefully I will get around to blogging those someday, but I wanted to share their wedding photos before I document the next big step for these two when their little daughter arrives in a few weeks!

Keena & Josh got married in Cohasset, MA with a reception at the Red Lion Inn, which is the perfect spot if you’d like a refined wedding day with a rustic feel.  Keena chose a ballgown wedding dress with the longest ruffled train, which just begged to be photographed in front of a window. She carried her grandfather’s watch and grandmother’s pearls along with a photo of the two tucked into her bouquet to keep close these two important people who couldn’t be there for the day.

Their wedding ceremony was a First Parish Church, which seemed to me to be a quintessential New England church, just a few blocks away from the Red Lion Inn. The ceremony had a warm and intimate feel, and there was plenty of laughter and light moments. These two are so at ease in front of the camera, I wish we had more time for portraits, but the day was brisk so after a few portraits we headed back inside for the reception.

Keena & Josh, thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer! I’m so glad for the chance to get to know you both and be a part of your special day. I can’t wait to catch up with you again soon and meet the newest member of your family!
