You’re not seeing double — just two weeks after Libby & Bryant tied the knot at the Barn at Gibbet Hill, I had the good fortune to head back to one of my favorite venues for Katie & Jonathan’s wedding reception.
The fun all started at Katie’s parents house, where her mom has a home salon. How nice to be able to have all the amenities of a salon and the comforts of home! Katie chose yellow and white for her wedding colors, which was a nice compliment to her sunny personality. The bouquets were a mix of daisies with yellow and white roses to match the tone of casual elegance throughout the day.
Katie’s mermaid fit and flair lace dress with a beaded bodice was a definite show stopper as she walked down the aisle at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover. The priest officiating over the mass was a family friend, which meant that the ceremony included plenty of personal stories about Katie and “Jojo.” I always feel honored getting to be a witness to such a special day when the bride and groom are surrounded by so many people who love and support them.
The reception at Gibbet Hill was beautiful as always, and the rustic barn details were the backdrop for some truly impressive dance moves. At one point there was a big circle and a few people —including the groom— started doing backflips. I’m not going to lie, I definitely said a few prayers that no one would break their neck or get kicked in the face! Instead of running through rice or bubbles, Katie and Jonathan wrapped up a perfect night with a final dance where everyone sent paper airplanes out over the couple. It was a fitting end to the evening for this couple who would be in the air themselves the next morning to fly to their new hometown across the country.
