The Boston Public Garden is probably one of the most popular spots for engagement photos, and fall in New England is one of the most beautiful places for portraits. So when Alexa and Mario chose the Public Garden for their late October engagement session, I was expecting a pretty predictable session. The day did not disappoint— the weather was cool, but these two had no problem warming things up. After a few photos in the Garden, we were tired of dodging other couples out for their engagement photos and Mario had an idea for a different spot.
I love learning and discovering new places for portraits, so I was thrilled with Paul Rever Park, which runs under the Zakim bridge and offers a lookout with a panoramic view of the city. Alexa and Mario wanted a grittier look to go with the second half of the session, so the warm fall colors were traded for black jackets and hats. I love how these two showed off their dramatic sides. They were so much fun, and I love when people aren’t afraid to show off their romantic side.
